Campbell McLachlan QC, Professor of International Law at Victoria University, Wellington, will discuss recent developments in the law of foreign relations in the United Kingdom and Commonwealth jurisdictions.  He will draw on his forthcoming book on foreign relations, “Foreign Relations Law” (Cambridge University Press, pub. date August 2014), the first new analysis of the field in English and Commonwealth law in three decades.  Paul Stephan, Professor of Law at the University of Virginia, Co-Reporter for the American Law Institute’s Restatement of Foreign Relations Law (4th), will provide comments on the foreign relations law of the United States.  Gary Born, Chair of the International Arbitration Practice Group at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr will moderate the discussion and provide comments on Professor Stephan’s and Professor McLachlan’s presentations.
