Ganna Yudkivska is a Judge at the European Court of Human Rights since June 2010; formerly Vice-President, and President of the Section since 1 February 2017. Associate Professor of European and International law at the Bar Academy of Ukraine. She obtained her education in Ukraine and France. She lectured and researched at universities of USA, France, the Netherlands, Israel and Ukraine. Ganna Yudkivska served as an expert for different human rights organizations, she was a defense attorney and member of the Bar; she leaded in Ukraine and Moldova the legacy project on genocide studies (now – Shoah Institute of the University of South California). She also worked as a lawyer at the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights and advisor to the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe. Author of a number of scientific articles on human rights, international law and criminal procedure
