International Law Seminar
The Fifty-third session of the Seminar will take place in Geneva from 3 to 21 July 2017.
The International Law Seminar is organized since 1965 by the United Nations Office in Geneva on the occasion of the annual session of the International Law Commission, for a duration of three weeks.
The Seminar is designed for advanced doctoral students in international law, young scholars and government officials working in the field of public international law, to widen their knowledge of both the work of the International Law Commission and of the codification and progressive development of international law. It also provides an opportunity for young lawyers from different legal systems and cultures to exchange views regarding items on the agenda of the Commission.
The International Law Seminar is not intended to be an introduction to international law. Applicants must prove a sound knowledge of public international law, on the basis of either their postgraduate studies or significant professional experience.
The deadline for submission of applications is 29 March 2017
