ABOUT THE WEBINAR
The webinar brings into dialogue three recent books addressing the evolving relationship between intellectual property, international treaties, public health, development, and global governance:
- Shujie Feng, Chinese Trademark Law from the Perspective of International Treaties;
- Shujie Feng, Le Droit Chinois des Marques au Regard des Traités Internationaux; and
- Srividhya Ragavan and Swaraj Paul Barooah, Fractures in IP, Trade, and Health: Centering a Public Health Framework.
The participants will be:
- Shujie Feng, Tsinghua University School of Law;
- Srividhya Ragavan, Texas A&M University School of Law;
- Swaraj Paul Barooah, SpicyIP;
- Edward Kwakwa, Assistant Director General, Global Challenges and Partnerships Sector, World Intellectual Property Organization, as discussant; and
- Paolo Davide Farah, University of Tulsa College of Law, as chair, moderator, and discussant.
The discussion will address international treaty implementation, Chinese intellectual property law, trade and public health, access to medicines, innovation, development, Indigenous knowledge, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, regulatory legitimacy, and the growing role of China, India, and other emerging powers in international economic governance.
