Call for Papers | 2nd International Conference The Crossroad Of International Environmental Law
The Call for Papers for the 2nd International Conference on “The Crossroad of International Environmental Law: Paradoxes of Energy Transition and Global Inequalities”, to be held in person at the Open University of Catalonia in Barcelona, Spain, on 3–4 September 2025.

Abstracts exploring the intersection of energy transition, environmental law, and human rights, particularly as they affect the Global South, are welcome. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
- Just transition and environmental justice
- Neocolonialism and resource exploitation
- Human rights impacts of renewable energy
- Corporate responsibility and global governance
- Trade, investment, and the paradox of clean energy
Submission Guidelines:
- Deadline for abstracts: 10 May 2025
- Submit to: ielconference@uoc.edu
- Include two separate documents:
- Anonymized abstract (500–700 words)
- Author information: name, affiliation, title, contact details, and short CV
Abstracts will undergo blind review. Notifications of acceptance will be sent by 5 June 2025. A draft of the selected papers is expected by 30 July 2025, with publication opportunities under discussion for a book or journal special issue.
Registration opens: 1 March 2025 – 15 July 2025
