Le Prix SEDI de la monographie (ESIL Book Prize) est décerné chaque année lors de la conférence annuelle de la SEDI, en même temps que le Prix SEDI du Livre en collaboration (ESIL Collaborative Book Prize).

Lauréate du Prix SEDI du Livre de la Monographie 2024

Le Prix SEDI de la Monographie 2024 a été décerné en septembre 2024 lors de la 19ᵉ conférence annuelle de la SEDI à Vilnius à Arianna Whelan pour son livre  Reciprocity in Public International Law (CUP, 2023).

“Le livre couvre un concept très important pour le droit international d’une manière complète et élégante. Bien que les questions relatives à la réciprocité aient été abordées dans d’autres ouvrages, la portée et la profondeur de ce livre ajoutent une valeur académique et pratique importante à la recherche en droit international. L’auteur écrit dans un style clair et attrayant, étayant ses arguments par une multitude de sources juridiques pertinentes. Elle fournit une analyse juridique détaillée des différents rôles et articulations de la réciprocité dans plusieurs domaines clés du droit international public, notamment le droit des traités, le traitement des individus, l’application du droit international et la compétence des cours et tribunaux internationaux, des cours des droits de l’homme et des organes de traités. L’auteur souligne notamment que la réciprocité n’est pas l’ennemie des intérêts et obligations communautaires, bien au contraire, tout en soutenant et en concrétisant le principe de l’égalité souveraine des États”.
