Call for Applications | 58th Session (2024) of the International Law Seminar
The 58th Session (2024) of the International Law Seminar will take place from 1 to 19 July 2024. The application process is open from 16 February until 12 April 2024.
The International Law Seminar is one of the oldest and most prestigious training programmes of the United Nations in the field of international law. It takes place on an annual basis at the United Nations Office at Geneva, in conjunction with the second part of the session of the International Law Commission.
It is designed for young scholars (advanced PhD students or academic researchers), government officials, as well as young lawyers in the field of international law, to widen their knowledge of both the work of the International Law Commission and the progressive development of international law and its codification. The International Law Seminar is not intended to be an introduction to international law. Applicants must prove a sound knowledge of international law, on the basis of either their postgraduate studies or significant professional experience in the field.
Twenty-four participants from various nations participate in ILS, on the basis of the equitable geographic representation.
