The Faculty of Law of the University of Geneva and the Department of Law of the University of Ferrara organise a joint seminar on The Gabčíkovo-Nagymaros Judgment and its Contribution to the Development of International Law.

In the year of the judgment’s twentieth anniversary, the seminar aims at reassessing the way in which the case was managed, including as regards the post-judgment phase, and exploring the judgment’s impact on the Law of Sustainable Development, the Law of Treaties and the Law of International Responsibility. 

Chairs and speakers include Pierre Bodeau-Livinec (University Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis), Jean d’Aspremont (University of Manchester), Leslie-Anne Duvic-Paoli (King’s College London), Malgosia Fitzmaurice (Queen Mary University of London), Serena Forlati (University of Ferrara), Alessandra Gianelli (University of Teramo), Irene Maccagnani (University of Ferrara), Loris Marotti (University for Foreigners Perugia), Makane Moïse Mbengue (University of Geneva), Panos Merkouris (University of Groningen), Paolo Palchetti (University of Macerata), Alain Pellet (University Paris-Nanterre), Laura Pineschi (University of Parma), Attila Tanzi (University of Bologna), Stephan Wittich (University of Vienna).

The seminar will take place at the University of Ferrara on 6/7 December 2017.
