IG on International Courts and Tribunals | Online Discussion with Dana Burchardt | 30 September 2026

Bringing together insights from law, political science and behavioural research, the book develops a framework for understanding how relationships of authority between international courts and their audiences, including states, NGOs, individual applicants and domestic courts, are formed, maintained and contested.

The discussion will explore these questions through the book’s case studies of the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States, offering an opportunity to reflect more broadly on the dynamics that shape international judicial authority.
