The ESIL IG on Peace and Security, together with the Centre for European Law and Internationalisation at the University of Leicester, invite you to join a discussion with Dr Niccolò Ridi (KCL) and Dr Rossana Deplano (Leicester) on the themes raised by Dr Deplano’s new book, ‘Empirical and Theoretical Perspectives on International Law: How States Use the UN General Assembly to Create International Obligations‘ (Cambridge 2022). Her work examines the manner by which UN General Assembly resolutions obtain a legal quality through domestic law, international practice and the work of the UN General Assembly. Dr Ridi and Dr Deplano will discuss the key arguments in the work, exploring how the resolutions acquire legal significance.

The event will run on Wednesday 9 November at 2pm UK time. To register for the event, please click here.
