The 14th Russian National Championship of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition took place in Moscow, Russia, on 28 January – 1 February 2015, with the support of the European Society of International Law.

The Russian National Championship was organised by White & Case LLC and Threefold Legal Advisors LLC and gathered over 300 participants, including Russian students and coaches from over 30 various Russian regions and Russian and international lawyers who attended the Competition as judges.

ESIL members took part as judges in all levels of the 2015 Competition, including ESIL’s Secretary General Marko Milanovic, acting as a judge of Quarterfinal and Semifinal Rounds, and two distinguished members of the 2015 Final Round in Russia, professors Marcelo G. Kohen (Graduate Institute, Geneva) and Robert McCorquodale (BIICL, University of Nottingham).

In his opening remarks on Sunday 1 February 2015, Marko Milanovic noted the first year of involvement of ESIL with Jessup Russia and invited all participants to join the Society as members and actively participate in all events held by the Society. He then presented the ESIL Mooting Prize for outstanding achievement in international law mooting to the members of the two top teams of the 2015 Russian National Championship. The Prize includes complimentary two-year membership in ESIL and a subscription to the European Journal of International Law.

The 2015 National Champion team members from St Petersburg State University were Polina Lysanova, Victoria Manko, Maarja Pild, Maria Strekalova and Vladislav Zinovyev (with Ksenia Shestakova and Dmitry Bartenev as coaches).

The 2015 Russian Runner-Up team from the Russian Foreign Trade Academy (Moscow) were Elina Arazakaeva, Olga Boklan, Pavel Chilingaryan, Anna Korshunova and Maria Petrenko (with Daria Boklan and Kristaps Tamusz as coaches).
