Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law – American University Washington College of Law Human Rights Essay Award
The Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law is a program at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. The Academy has several programs that it sponsors, including the Human Rights Essay Award, an essay competition that seeks to stimulate the production of scholarly work in International Human Rights Law.
The topic for the award this year is Gender Violence and International Human Rights Law and participants have the flexibility to explore any subject related to the assigned topic in either English or Spanish as one winner is chosen in each language.
Winners will be awarded a full scholarship to attend the Academy’s Program of Advanced Studies on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from May 29 – June 15, 2018.
They will also have the opportunity to publish their work with the American University International Law Review.
Persons must hold a law degree to participate and the deadline to submit is February, 1, 2018.
