The Japan Chapter of the Asian Society of International Law invites submissions for its 17th Annual Conference, to be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Osaka (Umeda), Japan.

 

Theme: “Securitisation and International Law in Asia”
This conference will explore how security concerns—ranging from armed conflicts and maritime disputes to cyber and space militarization—shape various areas of international law, including jus ad bellum, human rights, environmental and economic law.

Key Dates:

  • Submission Deadline: February 28, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: March 31, 2026
  • Program Announcement: End of April 2026
  • Full Paper Deadline: June 15, 2026

Submission Guidelines:
Proposals (in English or Japanese) should include:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Author bio
  • Relevant references

Conference Details:

  • Bilingual sessions (English/Japanese)
  • Mandatory in-person attendance (with online access available)
  • Non-member presenters: ¥10,000 fee (or join as a member)
  • Lunch: ¥1,500 (included for non-member presenters)
