Symposium
One Health for Food Safety, Food Security, and Sustainable Food Production:
Integrating Human, Animal, and Environmental Health

(In-person, The American University of Rome, Auditorium, Via Pietro Roselli 16, Rome, 13 February 2026)

The American University of Rome’s Center for Food Studies, together with the National Research Council of Italy’s Interdepartmental Center for Research Ethics and Integrity (CID Ethics), is pleased to announce the symposium “One Health for Food Safety, Food Security, and Sustainable Food Production: Integrating Human, Animal, and Environmental Health.”

This interdisciplinary event will bring together leading academics, international law specialists, agronomists, economists, representatives of international organizations, and scholars of science and philosophy to explore how the One Health approach can reshape global food systems. Through a collaborative dialogue that bridges human, animal, and environmental health, the symposium will examine the connections between sustainable food production, zoonotic diseases, and public well‑being—and consider how transforming food systems can help prevent future pandemics while fostering resilient and sustainable societies.

The symposium will take place at The American University of Rome, Via Pietro Roselli 16, 00153 Rome. Please CLICK HERE for more details on the programme and on how to register.
