Call for Book Proposals
The Oxford International Law Library Series
(published by OUP)
Deadline for submissions: 31 March 2026
The Oxford International Law Library invites proposals for scholarly books that advance understanding of key areas in international law.
Led by Sir Malcolm Evans KCMG OBE and Professor Freya Baetens, the series publishes authoritative works that analyse core concepts, emerging trends, and practical dimensions of the international legal system.
This call welcomes proposals for single‑authored or coherently co‑authored books (not edited volumes) that engage with one of three broad themes:
- Structure of International Legal Obligations
Including sources of international law, evolving forms of obligations, interactions between legal systems, and the organisation of the international legal order. - Subjects of the International Legal Order
Covering states, sovereignty, territory, and the role of non‑state actors such as peoples, minorities, international organisations, and the global commons. - Resolution of International Disputes
Encompassing judicial and non‑judicial dispute settlement, procedural and jurisdictional questions, and the responsibility of states and international organisations.
Proposals may vary in scope and methodology; the essential requirement is a clear connection to one of these themes.
