Workshop on “EU Accession to the ECHR: Procedural Hurdles and Prospects Before the ECtHR”
The EU Accession to the ECHR: Procedural Hurdles and Prospects Before the ECtHR workshop will take place on 15–16 May 2025 at the Faculty of Law, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, with the first day available in a hybrid format.
This workshop will explore the procedural challenges and implications following the EU’s accession to the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Discussions will focus on key issues such as the co-respondent mechanism, burden of proof, execution of judgments, and the role of unilateral declarations and friendly settlements.
The event is co-organised by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Faculty of Law, the University of Liverpool – School of Law and Social Justice, and the journals Lex & Forum and the ECHR Law Review.
