Málaga, 3–5 September 2026
ESIL is pleased to announce that the Website and the Call for submissions for the ESIL Annual Conference 2026 have now been published.
The ESIL Annual Conference 2026 will take place at the Universidad de Málaga from 3–5 September 2026, under the general theme:
“International Law and Conflict: An Enduring Tension?”
The international legal order is facing a systemic crisis, marked by growing political polarisation, challenges to multilateral institutions, and the resurgence of armed conflicts. The conference will explore how these tensions shape international law across political, economic, and technological dimensions, and will provide a forum for critical reflection on the evolving nature of conflict and its implications for global governance.
Full details of the Call, including thematic agorae, submission guidelines, and key deadlines, are available on the conference website.
All those engaged with international law—including researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and other professionals— are invited to submit proposals.
Abstract submission deadline: 31 January 2026
