The Faculty of Law of Christian Albrechts University of Kiel is inviting applications for the following position:

Professor (W3) of Public Law, with focus on Public International Law and European Union Law, and as one of the directors of the Walther Schücking Institute for Public International Law (Successor of Prof. Dr. Thomas Giegerich) to begin at the earliest possible date.

The holder of the Chair will be expected to teach and research in all areas of public international and European Union law, including international economic law as well as German constitutional and administrative law. Responsibilities comprise teaching,supervision and examination of undergraduates and graduates within the focus area “Public International and European Union Law” and within the interdisciplinary master degree programme “International Politics and International Law”. The applicant will be expected to teach, as appropriate, in both the German and English languages.

Applicants must provide evidence of a habilitation thesis or a comparable academic qualification. The successful candidate should have a proven track-record of international teaching, high-level publications and third-party funding.The Christian Albrechts University wishes to increase the number of female scholars in faculty positions and encourages applications from qualified women.
