Caleb Wheeler

Dr Caleb H Wheeler is a Senior Lecturer in Law and LLM Programme Lead at Cardiff University. There he specialises in public international law, international criminal law, and international human rights law. He has authored two monographs, Fairness and the Goals of International Trials (Routledge 2023) and The Right to be Present at Trial in International Criminal Law (Brill 2018) in addition to numerous journal articles, book chapters, and blog posts.
Dr Wheeler is also a co-editor of the second edition of the Routledge Handbook of International Criminal Law (forthcoming) with Professor William A Schabas and Dr Michelle Coleman. Dr Wheeler is admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, where he maintained an active legal practice before pursuing a career in academia. Prior to joining the board, Caleb was a co-convener of the ESIL Interest Group on International Criminal Justice.
