Call for Papers | Research Workshop on “Protection of human rights in the context of armed conflict”
The Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School, the Essex Armed Conflict and Crisis Hub, the Human Rights Centre at the University of Essex, the Oxford Institute for Ethics, Law and Armed Conflict, and the Bonavero Institute of Human Rights at the University of Oxford invite abstract submissions for a one-day research workshop to be held on 13 June 2025 at the Hertie School in Berlin, Germany.
Submissions are sought on the role of international human rights law (IHRL) in regulating armed conflict and addressing human rights violations and abuses in such contexts. Contributions employing legal-doctrinal, normative, critical, or socio-legal perspectives and methodologies are particularly encouraged.
The deadline for abstract submissions is 3 February 2025. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit draft papers of 8,000–10,000 words by 2 June 2025.
