Andreas Kulick

Andreas Kulick holds the Chair of International Law at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and is the Founding Director of the Mainz International Adjudication Center (MAIAC). In addition, he is Co-Director of the School of German Law at Jagiellonian University Kraków and a Life Member of Clare Hall College, Cambridge. Furthermore, he is, or has been, Member of several Committees and Study Groups of the International Law Association (ILA) and has experience as counsel and advisor to states in proceedings before international courts and tribunals.
He is a generalist public international lawyer, with specific interests in international adjudication, international economic law, international responsibility, international legal theory, and the role of corporations in international law. Among his publications are Global Public Interest in International Investment Law (CUP 2012) and General International Law in International Investment Law – A Commentary (co-editor with Michael Waibel, OUP 2024), which received the 2026 Certificate of Merit of the American Society of International Law.
